Fair Housing Act

Under the federal Fair Housing Act (FHA), housing accommodations are made for those who have an emotional support animal. Under the FHA guidelines, only ESA letters are valid in order to receive such accommodations. Registered emotional support animal certificates, registration forms, and I.D.'s are invalid as they do not provide sufficient information to establish that a person has a need for an emotional support animal since anyone can purchase these from an online source. Thus, steer clear from those sites who are trying to sell you on these items. 

 

How it Works

You will be evaluated by phone to see if you are eligible by meeting certain criteria in order to receive an ESA letter. You will not be charged unless you are determined eligible for the letter. Once eligible, you will make your payment and your Emotional Support Animal prescription letter will be written and sent within 24 hours.

Again, this is for Florida and Georgia residents only as our therapists are licensed in both states. ESA letters are only valid when therapists are registered and licensed within the same state as the residents who are applying. Not everyone will be approved. In order to obtain an ESA letter, a psychiatric/emotional related need must be determined during the assessment process. Once determined, an ESA letter along with other recommendations for the treatment of your condition such as counseling will be recommended. The purpose in acquiring this letter is to prescribe an emotional support animal (not a service animal) to reside within your current or future home for emotional support and stability purposes. 

Due to the recent flight DOT rules, we do not provide ESA letters for travel purposes.
